What to provide first
Gmail
- Open the email.
- Click the three-dot menu near Reply.
- Choose Show original.
- Copy the full header and paste it here.
Outlook
- Hotmail / Outlook / Microsoft mail on the web: open the email, click the three-dot More actions button, choose View, then View message source.
- Classic Outlook for Windows: open the email in its own window, then go to File → Properties and copy the Internet headers.
Apple Mail, Yahoo, iCloud, Proton
- Apple Mail on Mac: View → Message → All Headers.
- Yahoo Mail: open the message and use More → View Raw Message.
- iCloud Mail: open the message and use More → Show All Headers.
- Proton Mail: open the message and use More → View headers.
Paste only the raw header block if possible. For the message body itself, use the Email Spam Checker.
What this tool does
It reviews the technical routing details behind an email and checks sender fields, Reply-To, Return-Path, authentication results, and server hops. That makes it easier to spot spoofing, mismatched addresses, or weak authentication that often show up in phishing attempts.
